Summer Stillness is a deeply personal abstract artwork created during a time of emotional reflection in wartime Ukraine. Built layer by layer over a month, the painting combines five distinct layers of color, texture, and movement, culminating in an atmospheric depth of tones—soft earthy pinks, gentle greens, and dusty golds.
Real dried grasses and wheat, gathered and preserved under the heat of the Ukrainian summer, are sealed into the layers of acrylic, turning the canvas into a silent witness of time, memory, and place.
This work evokes peace, quiet resilience, and the longing for freedom. It offers the viewer a space to breathe, to feel held by nature, and to reconnect with the simplicity of being.
