Rebirth: Symbols of Motherhood

In this artwork, which belongs to the series of works "Being", the artist explores the theme of the female experience and connection with ancestry through the symbolism of motherhood. The seated female figure, bare and tender, coexists with an ornamental towel, which is not only a part of Ukrainian folk culture but also symbolizes the connection with ancestors and traditions.
The figure of the woman holding a pumpkin symbolizes fertility, fecundity, and rebirth. The pumpkin, a well-known symbol in Ukrainian culture, embodies the importance of fertility and fruitfulness.
The branches of viburnum in the background add even more symbolism to the canvas. Viburnum, as a sign of Ukrainian culture, is associated with family traditions and domestic comfort.
